Last month, I had dinner with Ray Tomlinson (that I went to high school with) who invented email and forgave him for all those SPAM emails I get in my inbox everyday. The Internet and email particularly are the bedrock of communication today. Too bad that people abuse this wonderful way of connecting with each other around the world.

A great post on how to be careful on Internet giveaways. Now in days I am getting to the point where I am just cautious when I see those unless I know it comes from people/networking that I am familiar with.

A lesson learned! I’ve not gotten viruses from giveaways, but I have gotten added to a lot of mailing lists that I really don’t need to be on. For me the worst part is that many of the giveaways fall into the category of “you get what you pay for”.

As a counter, I’m sure there are some great giveaways out there. But I took the giveaways off my site for the very reasons stated above.
